Dracula : Images of the Wicked and the Damned

Vampires have always fascinated me, especially Count Dracula. I read Dracula for the first time when I was 14. It was an amazing experience. The book opened a new world of horror and the macabre that most movie adaptations only touched upon.

Bram Stoker crafted the first “found footage” horror story. His novel is a compilation of diary entries and newspaper crafted into a beautifully worded tale of horror, despair, and redemption.

For this project I wanted to take the beautifully written story and illustrate it as I imagine it from the author’s description. To stay true to the source material. I chose 13 events from different parts of the novel that I thought were key moments and driving forces in the story. I took those events and tried to summarize each one in a single image.

This is my tribute to the brilliance of you, Mr. Bram Stoker. You are an amazing and under appreciated author. Thank you for giving us one of the greatest horror stories ever written.
