Amina Boufennara | Stitchings in Midmost

ARTIST'S POEM

One foot in homeland
One foot immigrating
Stepping “in-between”
Childhood embedded in the soil
Raised amidst new land
Like a chameleon dancing in different settings
Slowly blooming
Sewing the grounds of tomorrow
Going back to roots brings forth a stable ground
Slowly revealing itself
One brushstroke at a time
Bringing with it the stories of yesterdays
Keeping me grounded ever so presently
In its creation one pattern at a time
