My journey to Siwa Oasis was a transformative experience. The vibrant cultural heritage, traditional festivities, and distinctive architectural styles of Siwa left a permanent mark on me. The kaleidoscope of colors and the lyrical Arabic script that grace this timeless place have become a wellspring of inspiration. My artistic vision is to harmoniously blend the rich Arab heritage with contemporary art, offering a fresh perspective that bridges the gap between the two. My work focuses on transforming the natural scenes of Siwa using lines and letters inspired by Arabic writing with a contemporary vision. My compositions range from imitating nature to absolute abstraction. My work involves using shadows and light to express feelings, with writing being the common factor. I used bold brush strokes and focused on the diversity of surface textures and color areas to emphasize the strength of historical buildings. The diversity of the surface textures of the buildings and the perspective dimensions highlights the architecture's mass meaning.
My creative process involves reimagining my compositions, infusing them with words, color, and texture until they evolve into visual poems with a distinct structure, where the word takes center stage. Words, as symbols of meaning, serve as a testament to my Egyptian roots and Arab heritage. My contemporary vision seamlessly integrates Arabic text into a unique composition that encapsulates the essence of Arab heritage, transcending its linguistic origins to become an abstract vocabulary. I hold the cultural heritage and the aesthetic beauty of Arabic writing in high regard, and my work pushes the boundaries of traditional artistic expression.
By manipulating lines and negative space, I create symbolic landscapes with profound meanings, inviting viewers to rediscover a world where language and nature blend beautifully.
