RILDA PACO: MUJER PELIGRO MUJER
“MUJER – PELIGRO – MUJER “es la exposición de un cuerpo de obras que transmiten la histórica lucha de las mujeres, quienes con pequeñas acciones contestatarias al "statu quo", han logrado grandes cambios en favor de sus derechos. La desproporcionada relación entre las acciones y la noción de convertirse en un “peligro” para los convencionalismos y el conservadurismo que rigen en el sistema patriarcal, forma parte integral de la propuesta. Al volverse un “peligro” las mujeres se vuelven también el blanco de los ataques. El peligro es entones para ellas aún mayor, y se evidencia en la constante violencia que ejerce la sociedad a múltiples niveles en su contra. Paco utiliza retratos digitales generados con la inteligencia artificial (IA), que luego son impresos en papel fotográfico e intervenidos con pintura y bordado. Un medio nuevo y otro antiguo confluyen a enlazar la temporalidad del discurso. El cuidado uso de un bordado de colores intensos, un arte de atribución femenino en la sociedad patriarcal; añade otra subyacente y alegórica esfera crítica a las obras.
“WOMAN – DANGER – WOMAN” is the title of the show showcasing a body of works that transmit the historic struggle of women, whom with their small actions to contest the "status quo" have achieved significant changes in favor of their rights. The disproportionate relationship between women´s actions and the notion of them becoming a “danger” for the conventional and conservative notions that rule the patriarchal system, makes for an important part of the artist´s arguments. By becoming a perceived “danger”, women also become the gargets of multiple attacks. The danger is then even greater for women, as evidenced by the constat violence that society exerts upon them at multiple levels. Paco uses portraits generated using artificial intelligence (AI), which are then printed on photographic paper and intervened with painting and embroidery. A new medium is combined with an ancient one to interlace the temporality of the discourse. The careful use of a colorful embroidery, an art historically attributed to women in the patriarchal society, adds an allegoric and critical layer to the pieces.
