Between Skin and Bones - Marlene Bart

Skin, bones, muscles, blood and organs hold bodies together. They are structural and part of a natural system that enables us to exist, function and ultimately challenge these capabilities. They are unique materials that we would never thinkof as such. At least not when it comes to the human body.Marlene Bart explores methodological interfaces between art and science. In the exhibition "Zwischen Haut und Knochen" (Between Skin and Bone), she shows a series of works in which she playfully operates with representations of organic components. She transgresses the boundaries of the "human" and "animal" body and develops complex visual structures that point to the necessary reconfiguration of the human-body-nature relationship in the Anthropocene.
