ripped away - arraché - weggerissen...

is my Final Major Project for my BA (Hons) Photography studies, which deals with the themes of death, loss, and grief.

How should I visually represent the feeling of "having the ground ripped away from under your feet"? Isn't it true that one feels as if they are moving between two worlds, belonging to neither? In English, this physical and psychological state of exception is described as a 'liminal space.' Questioning the supposed reality, I decided on a minimalist aesthetic—abstract, graphically reduced to the essentials.

This allows the viewer to see each image without distracting elements, ideally providing space for their own interpretation.
