Gods of the Underworld: Syncretism of Mythology in Roman Egypt

This exhibition aims to examine how the Romans not only blended their culture with the Egyptians, but also how they completely took over their religious ideologies. This will be done through the comparison of depictions of three different gods that are associated with the afterlife - Isis, Osiris, and Anubis; how they’re originally depicted and how the Romans depicted them. Take note of what has stayed consistent and what has changed.
