Philosophically Speaking

3rd April 2024

Artist: Jennifer M Ryan

I have a problem, a good problem. I am a prolific creator. But, I work best when goals and due dates are clear. Hence, at this stage, works for this exhibition, are in draft or development stages.

In all my works, I don’t seek to interpret or reproduce specific things. My vision is to reveal the passions, the undeniable ones and the invisible ones. In the mode of many adventurers, I generally ignore the urgency of those seeking to affect what I produce. I paint what I want to.

Because my creations are about experimenting and testing boundaries of colour, lines and shapes, it sometimes takes me years to get to an end point. I know I’m there when I get a sense of something; an experience or emotion has been translated.
