Armenia meets Germany
The photo exhibition by the photographers Michael Wagener (Germany) and Ed Tadevossian (Armenia) opened on October 5, 2022 in the Goethe Center of Yerevan.
In November 2017 Michael Wagener met the photographer Ed Tadevossian under an apple tree in Armenia. In 2018 Ed Tadevossian traveled to Saxony-Anhalt for an artist residency and met Michael Wagener again in Cologne. The beginning of a photographic symbiosis and the idea for the exhibition "Armenia meets Germany - a photographer friendship". High-quality black-and-white prints and color prints show the two photographers' different perceptions of Armenia and Germany. Sensitive portraits of encounters, as well as formal aesthetic discussions of the different cultural areas are in this exhibition in an exciting interaction.
Michael Wagener shows his impressions of Armenia, while Ed Tadevossian documents a stay in Germany. The online exhibition is an extended form of the gallery exhibition in Yerevan and of the exhibition at the International Photo Scene 2018 in Cologne.
