CARA BARER - NEW WORK 2023
Cara Barer (b. 1956) received an Associates Degree in Fashion Marketing from the Art Institute of Houston, Houston, TX, and studied at Glassel School of Art, Houston, TX.
Her artwork has been shown in numerous exhibitions across the United States, including at the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, Kalamazoo, MI, Aperture Foundation, NY, and the Susquehanna Art Museum, Harrisburg. Her work has been featured in the US State Department’s Art in Embassies Program at the embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Collections holding her work include Trump Hollywood, VISA, UCLA Special Collections, Danielle Steel, Bloomingdales, Lehigh University, Nordstrom's Nationwide, Wells Fargo Bank and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Barer’s photographs are featured in Art Made From Books: Altered, Sculpted, Carved, Transformed (Chronicle Books, 2013).
