Fresh Pasture

From the Holstein Foundation’s “Showring Ready: A Beginner’s Guide to Showing Dairy Cattle, volume 2”: “Working with dairy cattle and preparing them for a show can be an extremely rewarding and fun experience.”

The brainchild of organizing artist, Carlo Vitale, Fresh Pasture pays homage to Vitale’s experiences working on dairy farms throughout his youth and brings together the collaborative efforts of some of Michigan’s best exhibiting artists. Shrewd cattle judges may recognize the inclusion of several of these fine bovines previously at pasture in the “Cow Show” at Black Box (Dearborn). Finding Fresh Pasture at PCCA, the work is joined by new herd members for another round of grazing and appreciation. Featuring more than twenty pieces depicting dairy cattle, this all-American dairy themed exhibit is a whimsical kick-off to PCCA’s 2023 exhibit calendar.
