After Trump’s election in 2016, Nicole Jeffords began — out of horror and rage — a series of paintings of Trump and his administration. She quickly became known as a political portraitist, as her portraits were used as the basis for provocative memes and political commentary published by ArtProfiler, an online cultural magazine Nicole helped found in 2014. The viral exposure led to a commission from Time Magazine when the publication asked her to paint a portrait of Lilly Ledbetter for their cover in March 2020. When painting the faces of corrupt politicians got to be too much, Nicole started painting the American heroes who stood up to them.
