The Jury Art Prize 2021
The Jury Art Prize is an annual art prize representing the exceptional creative talent that exists in remote and regional Western Australia. Organised by The Junction Co. and exhibited at the Town of Port Hedland’s Courthouse Gallery+Studio, the Prize demonstrates the diversity in arts practice across the state, including a wide range of indigenous and non-indigenous work.
In it’s second year, and moving through the impacts of a pandemic, The Jury Art Prize has grown and continues to adopt accessible innovations. This year 54 dynamic finalist artworks were selected to be in the running to win prize categories.
The Prize’s expert panel of judges, curator Sandra Murray, artist and poet Jazz Money, and artist Damien Shen had the challenging task of selecting the winner for three Prize Categories: the Patron Award, the Kathy Donnelly Encouragement Prize and The Judges Prize.
