All dressed up, with nowhere to go

A global pandemic, record-breaking unemployment, and high quality dresses;
Fashion in Isolation is a virtual exhibition featuring new designs that gained popularity during a worldwide epidemic. In a land of sweat pants and stay at home orders, these dresses and their respective designers have overcome all odds. Every dress has sold out in mass quantities, and for up to half a thousand dollars each. Some dresses are still only available for pre-order, on their fourth, or even seventh, drop to the public.

Batsheva Hay, a lawyer turned fashion designer specializing in house dresses; Lirika Matoshi, the 24 year old break-out designer who released the viral Strawberry Dress, and Sunny Williams, inspired by fine art and by-gone eras, are just a few of the fashion experts whose work is in this exhibition.
All of these designers have found success through their creations, most of the designers have launched their brands less than a decade ago, and some of them are names that will be remembered for decades to come.

In this exhibition we explore the appeal these creators have brought to their designs, their personal connection to the global pandemic and current economic crisis, and what it means to be consumers and creators in present times.
