FROM FACTORY TO PARK

At the beginning of the 20th century, a multinational group of entrepreneurs founded “La Compañía Fundidora de Fierro y Acero de Monterrey”, a corrugated steel and iron factory, the first and, for many years, the most important foundry in Latin America. It was nationalized in 1977, becoming bankrupt by 1988. After closing its doors for more than 10 years, it was reopened as a public park, with running and cycling paths, several museums, a convention center, an art school, a cinema, and a show center.

In the exhibit, the author goes deep into several abandoned areas — a tribute to the greatness of a distant place, from more than a century ago.
