We’re thrilled to announce a new and exciting addition to the Addicted family: the incredibly talented rollerskating, living the dream in a house that would make Barbie pink with envy - photographer, Jamie Nelson. With her unique perspective, artistic flair and unparalleled ability to capture the essence of her subjects, Jamie brings a fresh and captivating energy to our gallery.

Jamie’s work can be seen in over a dozen international editions of Vogue, Allure, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, Tush, TIME and Vanity Fair to name a few.

Jamie blurs the lines between commercial, art and editorial worlds with her colourful, over-the-top, iconic imagery.

Often referencing vintage culture, Jamie time-warps the viewer to a simpler era, to provide a sense of freedom from the current cultural climate. As a female photographer, Jamie conveys a shocking sensuality that uplifts, rather than objectifies, her models.

Jamie draws on various influences from photographer Guy Bourdin to filmmaker Federico Fellini - as well as movements such as punk music, vintage clothing and motorcycle culture. Much like the photographer herself, Jamie’s work exudes an undeniable 'cool' factor.

The photographer’s portfolio is a testament to her vibrant creativity and unparalleled vision. Her work often transports viewers into dreamlike landscapes, where reality melds with fantasy in a symphony of colours and emotions. From her meticulously composed fashion editorials to her whimsical conceptual pieces, Jamie has an extraordinary ability to evoke emotions and provoke thought through her imagery.

“I think transformation is my favourite part of my vocation. I love the process of conceptualising the shoot from start to finish, creating mood boards, casting talent, and being involved in the storytelling aspects. Seeing my team of hair, makeup, and stylists transform the talent into the character I have envisioned is the ultimate payoff.

“Creating timeless art is my main goal … the magic of storytelling, making something out of nothing, and revealing illusions and truths, is my greatest reward.”

Known for her eclectic style, Jamie is a living breathing artistic statement of her own. She currently resides in Los Angeles in her pink palace - where art imitates life daily within her studio. Jamie designed the interiors herself - adorned with colourful 70s shag from floor to ceiling, a round spinning bed, phallic topiaries and a jukebox - mimicking her fantastical images.

At Addicted Art Gallery, we have always sought to showcase artists who push the boundaries of creativity and offer a fresh perspective to our audience. Jamie's work aligns perfectly with our mission to provide art lovers with thought-provoking and visually stunning works. Jamie's ability to craft stories through her lens resonates deeply with our dedication to narrative-driven art that sparks conversations.
