Water, Water, Everywhere

Water is the origin of all. Life began and prospered with and near water. All cities are built on rivers or lakes. We use water for drinking, farming, bathing, and cooking. We pray for rain, and we also pray that the storms will stop. Too little water is not good, and too much water can be unbelievably bad. We are drawn to water for recreation and relaxation. We like to swim in it, live near it and just plain look at it.
I like to portray the waters around me. I like to paint what I know. The lakes, rivers, streams, and ocean near me in New Jersey are plentiful and full of life. The waters are used and enjoyed here. The sounds of rain coming down, rivers rolling over rocks, children splashing into a pool and waves relentlessly crashing ashore are the background music of our lives. A bath filling, a cook pot boiling and ice going into a glass are all sounds we hear every day.
I paint scenes common to all of us. Water is common to all of us. With water we have life.
