RE-VISUALIZATION
A mobile photography exhibition titled ‘RE-VISUALIZATION’ is going to be opened at the EMK Center, Dhaka, at 6 PM evening on August 23, 2023. The exhibition aims to portray the living reality of the urban Dalits in Bangladesh. All the photographs in this exhibition are the work of Dalit youths from Dhaka city.
There are about 6.5 million Dalits living in Bangladesh. Historically, they have been discriminated because of their work and descent-based identity, and their potential has also been ignored. To recognise the potential of the Dalit youths and to inspire them to work for the development of their own community, the exhibition has been organized by Nagorik Uddyog in collaboration with the EMK center. The photographs were taken from across Dalit communities in Dhaka city.
