Exploring Food Connections in the Oneonta Community

A diverse selection of foods connects individuals within the Oneonta community. The ways in which people socialize over food, the sustainability of food choices, and the stories of restaurant and business owners illustrate the complexity of these connections. On the SUNY Oneonta campus, clubs and organizations help to socialize students with diverse food interests, whilst teaching them about local food options. In the campus’s dining halls, people are brought together around sustainable practices and food prep techniques. Meanwhile, off-campus, restaurants and businesses work intently to produce lovable and authentic dishes for the local community. From farms to dining halls, restaurants to campus organizations, a striking connection is made in Oneonta between people and the food they consume.
