Jeroen Hofhuizen

Jeroen Hofhuizen is a Dutch painter who lives and works in Maastricht. He graduated from the Maastricht Institute of Arts in 1995 and has exhibited his work in various countries, including Japan, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands. His work reflects his interest in the interplay between order and chaos, intuition and randomness, and the analogue and digital worlds. He uses a combination of traditional and modern techniques, such as oil paint, canvas, computer-generated patterns and digital elements, to create complex and layered paintings that invite the viewer to contemplate the relationship between these different realms. He also explores the theme of irreversibility, both in his creative process and in life itself, where each mark, decision and action has a lasting impact. His paintings are firmly rooted in the contemporary art world, but also show influences from abstract expressionism, minimalism and pop art. He is a member of The Act of Painting, an international collective of painters who share a common interest in painting as an act of expression and communication.
