My work includes handmade, one of kind jewellery, wearable books, collage, and small objects and sculptures - inspired by and incorporating mementos, ephemera, relics, and artifacts.

When beginning a collage, I often start with my own family photos and other vintage images. I placed them into new landscapes, sometimes real, sometimes imaginary. I love the contrast between subject and landscape and think it challenges both our sense of space - far and near, and time - past and present. The images evoke half remembered memories and stories of the past.

Each of my works often has many layers and textures ... tempting you to peer beneath the surface so that the more closely you look, additional patterns and images emerge.
I hope to intrigue you ... and invite you to interpret the picture and unravel its mysteries.

I am drawn to, and collect a wide range of discarded treasures: needlework, photographs, machinery parts, furniture hardware, books, stamps, jewellery, dinnerware, all manner of finely made old objects, and use these to inspire me. By auditioning disparate, abandoned objects I am excited to find unconventional ways to combine them to create unusual, but still often familiar narratives. This awards the discarded objects new life, giving them context and importance once more.

Recently I have been creating sculptures from paper clay and found objects. A number of these have been inspired by my pet emus and I imagine these hybrid creatures are conjurers or 3D grimoires. Perhaps they are messengers from my memories, beckoning me.
