Holding Light 2

Exploring psychological - spiritual abstract photography.
The series of black and white photographs is a self reflective meditation, an ancestral conversation. Photographing hands, light and butterfly cocoons, I
reflect on my aging hands … I consider DNA and personal lineage
while producing close up images of my hand print.
I am considering the past and capturing the present.
In the current light of this dimension, I ponder old age and more…
Utilizing finger print images and hands, I research dermatoglyph imagery.
Dermatoglyph patterns are influenced by paternal genes and environmental factors during the embryonic gestation period, prior to birth.
All human's papillary ridges (raised fingerprint textures) are unique. These personal identifiable patterns, ridges, swirls, arches, and loops are arranged on every human finger and do not alter with growth or age.
