On The Road Project 1
Photographer Chunyong Kim said he had a shorter adolescence than anyone else. When he was in middle school, he got a Nikon camera by chance. It put him on the verge of being a painter and plunged him into the world of photography. At that time, cameras were rare, it was harder to see a teenager boy taking pictures with a camera.
He spent his puberty pursuing the images captured by him and perfected the aesthetics he built himself on.
Meanwhile, the strong magnetic image production method he learned while working as a commercial photographer for a long time helped him to build another aesthetic of his unique personality.
Kim describes photo this way: ‘writing poetry’. It is the reason why we feel emotional excitement in his works.
If the act of taking a photo is an act of stealing the flow of time and rearranging it into space, the moment the space is relocated, there is a place for words to enter.
The photographer takes photos like that, and waits for the miracle in which the stories tell the story in his works.
