The Abstraction is not the Reality

The Abstraction is not the Reality
Often we think of pollution in abstract terms. We know we produce far too much waste and use far too much plastic. It goes somewhere that is bad for the environment and we try to do better. But when the reality stares one in the face, the enormity of the problem is far more than our abstract concern.

We humans measure our status in the natural world order by many self-constructed criteria. The making of culture and notions of creative inspiration are one of our major conceits.
Yet each day, the crabs and molluscs emerge to etch their marks in the sand, transitory drawings that record cycles of life in abstract beauty. Hundertwasser understood deeply the truths to be found in a human connection with the nature. Paul Klee and Joan Miro clearly have kindred spirits.
