George Malave: A Collection of Photographs from 1968- 1979

George Malave has worked as a photographer for over 50 years, concentrating on recording the urban environment and the human condition in everyday life. His photographic work includes essays on: Motherhood and Family Life, Travel, Crowds, World Trade Center, Experimental works and over 20 others.

Malave was awarded a Creative Artist Public Service Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Art Survey Grant to photograph life in New York. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and include: International Center of Photography, New York Historical Society, Wave Hill Center for Environmental Studies among many others.

Malave’s works are part of the New York Public Library Photography Collection and New York City Municipal Archives. Publications include: Third Avenue El, Bronx 1972-73, The Tourist, Creatures and Varet Street Kids 1968-69.
