The Luminosity Open Call invited submissions from 2D artists from across the nation. Nearly 200 artworks were submitted from across the U.S.A. and after careful selection by our jurors, Carol Shepley and Virginia Becker, 62 pieces were selected and hung in this exciting exhibition. 55 artists have work exhibited, reflecting a broad range of subject matter focusing on Luminosity.
Luminosity is the state of emitting or reflecting bright light, most often light that comes from within, light that makes its source/subject visually distinct and clear like dappled light in the forest, sparks of light in a night sky, sunlight simmering on the water, or light reflecting on a face.
The artists represented in this exhibition have used intensity, purity, and vibrations of light to create luminosity. Enter the gallery to be immersed with light and color.
