Michel Platnic : LIVING PAINTINGS

Mark Gallery

Mark Gallery is delighted to introduce Michel Platnic, an interdisciplinary artist born in France in 1970, and residing in Israel since 1998, where he studied theatre, performance, martial arts, and dance. Platnic mixes painting, photography, video and performance art, using the human body, often his own, as a platform to create “living paintings”, video installations, paintings and printed photographs. He often starts his creative process with well-known works of art by iconic artists such as Francis Bacon or Lucien Freud to stage illusionary worlds that let the viewer become part of them.

This exhibit features “living paintings” : when the viewer approaches, the figures come to life by moving a limb, tilting their heads, or blinking an eye; as well as still photography.
