St Mary's Chesterblade | Fundraiser 2020

All Proceeds to The Church Fund

In August 2019 thieves stole much of the lead from the 13th Century church of St. Mary’s Chesterblade, leaving the building scarred and vulnerable to water damage.

In order to secure the future of our cherished village church we need to replace the stolen roof lead and install an alarm system that will deter any future theft. The village now has a rough estimate of the costs involved and the relevant permissions from the Diocese and Historic England are in place for restoration.

To raise funds Luke has produced five original framed paintings of St Mary’s Chesterblade along with two special limited edition, archival prints available frame ready or in a frame. Only 50 of each will be produced.

Luke Piper has lived with his family in the village since 1996. His recent exhibition 'Planet Paintings' is very much inspired by local scenes and the 2015 'English Songline' project brought him right through Chesterblade, painting his way along the St Michael and specifically the St Mary Line all the way from Cornwall to East Anglia.
