Jack Hoye is a passionate creative from the suburbs of New York City - recently
graduated from The Westphal College of Media Arts & Design of Drexel University. Jack has
been published by numerous literary arts and fashion magazines for his visual works - most
notably by Art Market International Magazine, D&M Magazine for which he was a cover
featured artist, and Maven Magazine, a digital zine developed with a team of peers. Original
student films of his have been featured by international platforms, including The All American
High School Film Festival - through which he and his collaborators were nominated for Best
Editing at the 2017 Teen Indie Awards. At the moment, Jack continues to create and consume
new media in upstate New York.
"Much of my art plays with the juxtaposition of organic nature and inorganic synthetics -
employing color, hue, and light, as well as visual perspective to create dynamic compositions.
My artistic influences range from the works of photographers JD Dennison and Ansel Adams,
image-makers Bryan Huynh and Frederik Heyman, visual directors Stéphane Sednaoui and Eiko
Ishoika, painters like Remedios Varo or Salvador Dalí, as well as biologist Ernst Haeckel and
designer Klaus Haapaniemi. Moreover, I often make use of digital design tools to further abstract
and distort my original materials - creating compositions that are both surreal and evoke senses
of euphoria. My techniques attempt to render traditional realistic photography into forms of
contemporary design and surrealist modern art." - Jack Hoye.
