Lebanon hosts an estimated 1.5 million Syrian refugees. Nine out of ten refugee families are currently living in extreme poverty, meaning they cannot afford a range of basic goods and services considered needed for survival. Given the scarce income opportunities and their fragile legal status in-country, cash assistance and other forms of aid are a lifeline for refugees in Lebanon. In this virtual exhibition, you will meet Aya, Jameel, Fteim, Yasmin and Mohamad who participated in CAMEALEON’s participatory video project.

CAMEALEON is an NGO-led network, co-managed by the Norwegian Refugee Council, Oxfam and Solidarités International. CAMEALEON conducts independent research and analysis in support of the World Food Programme’s multi-purpose cash programme for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and contributes to wider cash-related learning. This project would not have been possible without the people who feature in this exhibition and so generously shared their stories.
