PATRIA O MUERTE - 3D virtual exhibition by GALLERY

PATRIA O MUERTE

The basis of [PATRIA O MUERTE] is based on an original domestic cuban 3 pesos bill from the year 2005 with the serial-number: 420453 from [BLOCK:ART] ARMY´s private collection.

A striking feature of this banknote is the image of Cuban´s freedom fighter Ernesto Guevara. Ernesto "Che" Guevara was a Marxist revolutionary, guerrilla leader and author. He was a central leader of the rebel army of the Cuban Revolution from 1956 to 1959 and, along with Fidel Castro, is its most important symbolic figure.

Patria o muerte, fatherland or death. "In a revolution, you win or you die." The fact that he was brutal and ruthless, that he would have plunged humanity into a third world war if he could have, that he executed men with his own hands - all of this pales before the generally disseminated image of Che as a courageous folk hero. Pales also from the fact that he was willing to go to his death for his cause.

Expect us, to show both sides with this artworks.
