Cardiff Camera Club – 125th Anniversary - 3D virtual exhibition by The Hearth Gallery

Cardiff Camera Club – 125th Anniversary

Wed, 09/08/2021 to Sun, 10/10/2021

curated by:

The Hearth Gallery at University Hospital Llandough is delighted to host the 2021 Annual Exhibition of Cardiff Camera Club, showcasing a large and diverse group show by its members at all levels of photography experience.

Cardiff Camera Club has been in existence, almost continuously, since its formation in 1896. A welcoming space for all, Cardiff Camera Club which is based in Rumney, has invited new members of all abilities into the club since the beginning and has continued to provide a welcoming space for all those interested in photography.

Cardiff Camera Club encourages its members through weekly meetings and by show-ing the collective work to the wider public as much as possible. Informal and fun chal-lenges are held over weeks and months, allowing members to explore new ideas and possibilities with their cameras. The Club encourages all members to improve and pro-mote their photography as much as they can, but ultimately encourages members to enjoy the company and fellowship of photographers within the club and connections that are made further afield through the Welsh Federation, Royal Photographic Society and various salons round the world.

Cardiff Camera Club has continued its weekly activities despite Covid restrictions and have now become accustomed to Zoom meetings and presentations. This has been quite beneficial to the club as they are now able to invite speakers and judges from all over the country, expanding their network but also allowing more opportunities for col-laboration and learning.

Each year Cardiff Camera Club hold an exhibition of their work and this year, we are delighted to be hosting such a wonderful milestone of 125 years of the Club. The exhibi-tion is a showcase of all the member’s work, from the beginners to the professionals, which creates a fantastic variety of work from abilities to concepts. The exhibition this year has an unusual feature. For the past eighteen months, Cardiff Camera Club have not been able to show their prints and photographs to one another at the club, in which they usually meet together to consult their work and discuss with guest judges about their merits and choices of what will be displayed in the upcoming exhibition. Therefore, this year, it is truly a display of the individual’s chosen art.

“We hope you have as much pleasure viewing our work as we had producing it.” – Car-diff Camera Club

Mae’n bleser gan Oriel yr Aelwyd yn Ysbyty Athrofaol Llandochau gynnal Arddangosfa Flynyddol Clwb Camera Caerdydd yn 2021, sy’n cynnwys sioe grŵp mawr ac amrywiol gan ei aelodau sydd â phrofiad ffotograffiaeth o bob lefel.

Mae Clwb Camera Caerdydd wedi bodoli, bron yn barhaus, ers ei sefydlu ym 1896. Mae Clwb Camera Caerdydd, man croesawgar sydd wedi’i leoli yn Nhredelerch, wedi gwahodd aelodau newydd o bob gallu i’r clwb ers y dechrau ac wedi parhau i gynnig croeso i bawb sydd â diddordeb mewn ffotograffiaeth.

Mae Clwb Camera Caerdydd yn annog ei aelodau yn ystod cyfarfodydd wythnosol a thrwy arddangos y gwaith a wneir ar y cyd i’r cyhoedd gymaint â phosibl. Cynhelir heriau anffurfiol a hwyliog dros yr wythnosau a’r misoedd, gan alluogi aelodau i archwilio syniadau a phosibiliadau newydd gyda’u camerâu. Mae’r Clwb yn annog ei holl aelodau i wella a hyrwyddo eu ffotograffiaeth gymaint â phosibl, ond y peth pwysig yn y pen draw yw annog aelodau i fwynhau cwmni a brawdoliaeth ffotograffwyr o fewn y clwb a’r cysylltiadau a wneir ymhellach drwy Ffederasiwn Cymru, y Gymdeithas Ffotograffiaeth Frenhinol a salonau amrywiol o amgylch y byd.

Mae Clwb Camera Caerdydd wedi parhau â’i weithgareddau wythnosol er gwaethaf cyfyngiadau COVID ac wedi ymgyfarwyddo â chyfarfodydd a chyflwyniadau Zoom. Mae hyn wedi bod yn eithaf buddiol i’r clwb gan ei fod bellach yn gallu gwahodd siaradwyr a beirniaid o bob rhan o’r wlad, gan ehangu ei rwydwaith a chreu rhagor o gyfleoedd i gydweithio a dysgu.

Bob blwyddyn, mae Clwb Camera Caerdydd yn cynnal arddangosfa o’i waith ac eleni, rydym yn falch o fod yn ei chynnal a hithau’n garreg filltir mor arbennig o 125 o flynyddoedd i’r Clwb. Mae’r arddangosfa yn cynnwys gwaith yr holl aelodau, o’r dechreuwyr i’r rhai proffesiynol, sy’n creu ystod wych o waith sy’n amrywio o ran galluoedd a chysyniadau. Mae gan arddangosfa eleni elfen anghyffredin. Dros y deunaw mis diwethaf, nid yw aelodau Clwb Camera Caerdydd wedi gallu dangos eu printiau a’u ffotograffau i’w gilydd yn y clwb, lle maent fel arfer yn cwrdd i gael cyngor a thrafod rhinweddau’r gwaith gyda beirniaid gwadd, yn ogystal â dewis yr hyn a gaiff ei gynnwys yn yr arddangosfa nesaf. Felly, eleni, mae hi’n arddangosfa o’r gwaith celf a ddewisir gan yr unigolyn.

“Rydym yn gobeithio y cewch chi gymaint o bleser yn gweld ein gwaith ag y cawsom ni yn ei greu.” – Clwb Camera Caerdydd

Bydd yr arddangosfa yn Oriel yr Aelwyd, Ysbyty Athrofaol Llandochau rhwng 8 Medi a 10 Hydref 2021 a bydd hefyd ar gael i’w gweld ar ein gwefan: www.cardiffandvale.art/cardiff-camera-club
