"The Green Pear In Observation" is an online Exhibition by the WIN/WOW Students of Bayshore High School, Long Island, NY. This project was sponsored by the Bay Shore Schools Arts Education Fund and was made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council. As part of Eastern Suffolk BOCES Arts-in-Education Exploration And Enrichment Program students participated in a 3-Week Color Theory atelier where they were each given a green pear and asked to closely observe the pear by drawing and painting the fruit from life. Students produced a series of color studies including the color wheel and value scale before painting the pear from "observation." Students were asked to look, notice, observe, and paint what they see. The result is over 30 unique works of art and interpretations of the Green Pear. Click "Guided Tour" to view each student work.
