Deep inside
Andrea Christl's artistic photography takes us into mysterious and enigmatic landscapes. The monochrome photographs in the exhibition "deep inside" are reflecting themes of silence and transformation. Nature as a mirror of the soul, in which the titles of the photo series such as "branch of freedom", "singing reeds" and "wonderland" also integrate the invisible that permeates everything visible.
Inspired by Japanese calligraphy and simplicity, photographer Andrea Christl reduces her choice of motifs to the essential. The deep tranquillity of nature leading inwards becomes tangible in the images. Andrea Christl’s special way of expression is the use of the telephoto lens in nearly all images. Coming from analogue photography and still a lover of nights in the photo lab at heart, the photographs are nowadays produced with a digital camera. Her classical photography training at the Lette-Verein-Berlin has given her the method of choosing motif, light and framing in such a way that the pictures hardly need any editing. A good piece of truthfulness in photography remains.

Die künstlerische Fotografie von Andrea Christl führt in geheimnisvoll-rätselhafte Landschaften. Die in monochromen Farben gehaltenen Aufnahmen der Ausstellung „deep inside“ reflektieren Themen zu Stille und Transformation. Die Natur als Seelenspiegel, in der auch die Titel der Fotoserien wie „branch of freedom“, „singing reeds“ und „wonderland“ das Unsichtbare integrieren, das alles Sichtbare durchdringt.
Inspiriert von japanischer Kalligrafie und Schlichtheit, reduziert die Fotografin Andrea Christl ihre Motivwahl auf das Wesentliche. Die nach Innen führende, tiefe Ruhe der Natur wird in den Bildern greifbar. Das Besondere ist, dass Andrea Christl fast nur mit einem Teleobjektiv fotografiert. Von der analogen Fotografie kommend und im Herzen immer noch Liebhaberin der Nächte im Fotolabor, werden die Aufnahmen heutzutage mit digitaler Kamera belichtet. Durch ihre klassische Fotografie-Ausbildung am Lette-Verein-Berlin hat sie sich die Vorgehensweise bewahrt Motiv, Licht und Bildausschnitt so zu wählen, dass die Bilder kaum bearbeitet werden müssen. Ein gutes Stück Wahrhaftigkeit in der Fotografie bleibt bestehen.
