Julia Morgan, Architect

Fri, 10/01/2021 to Fri, 06/30/2023

curated by:

As the first woman to be accepted to and graduate from the prestigious Architecture program at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and the first woman to become a licensed architect in California, Julia Morgan challenged convention and expectations from the beginning of her career. This exhibition features a curated selection of artifacts from Special Collections and Archives at Kennedy Library at Cal Poly, including her student work at the École and her collaboration with William Randolph Hearst at San Simeon. A physical exhibition of this work was open from January 13 - February 11, 2022 at the University Art Gallery.
