Paintings Lia Vereeck

Lia was born in Antwerp, Belgium on February 7, 1950. She showed a passion and a skill for drawing from an early age. In her teens, she had the opportunity to try out different techniques and courses, including classes at the Royal Academy in Antwerp. During that period she started to paint until she became eighteen.
However, due to personal circumstances she stopped painting for a few decades, but she remained creative. At the age of 64 Lia regained the love for the art of painting. She mainly works with acrylic, usually on canvases of 80 x 100 cm. Nowadays, her paintings are present in her everyday life.

The major theme in her work is humanity.
Her wholehearted love for mankind, her interest in what induces people and how they look at life inspire her each day. The spectrum of feelings we have to deal with in our society are virtually infinite. That's the reason why she paints faces.
