This year's jury proctor, artist/curator Leila Weefur, reviewed all student submissions.

San Francisco State University's School of Art welcomes you to the 2021 Senior Exhibition. All students graduating this semester were invited to submit works for this digital presentation, resulting in this showcase of 23 artists. Students from the School of Art's two sections of the Exhibition Design course served as the jurors for the exhibition, and artist/curator/educator Leila Weefur reviewed their work as the jury proctor.

The class of 2021 has been away from campus and their art studios for over 12 months. During this time School of Art staff members created and mailed "care packages" of art supplies to students so that they could continue with their studies. Faculty transitioned their classes to accommodate what could be done without specialized equipment of large work areas. Working away from campus and its arts studios, learning through Zoom classes, the student artists prevailed and continued to develop their individual artistic practices. This hard work is evidenced by the high level of each of the works included here. From photography and printmaking, to video, painting, drawing and ceramics, each of these artists continued to develop and grow under extremely trying circumstances.

We offer the hardiest of congratulations to all of the graduating seniors and look forward to celebrating your future successes!

Sharon E. Bliss, Fine Arts Gallery Director
Kevin B. Chen, Fine Arts Gallery Resident Curator, School of Art Lecturer
