Jodi Tu

I’ve always been drawn to figurative painting and tend to often use my own figure as my muse. It allows me to express clear focus on notions of the self, such as identity and personal experiences. My work is also influenced by inner and outer perceptions toward beauty and aesthetics through line, form, and colour. I utilize the silkiness of oil paint to exude an illustrative and luxurious quality to my rendered figures while intertwining digitally inspired elements using crisp, clean lines of colour.

In this exhibition, I have also included works that allowed me to expand on my skills and techniques within painting. My love for portraiture has always been present throughout all my works, however, I find myself also combining the figure with landscapes and articulated backgrounds.
