Two local recovery houses, Hector Reyes House and Jana’s Place partnered with community media educator and independent filmmaker Angelique Webster the last couple of months for the We Are Standing PhotoVoice Project in Worcester, MA. The project encouraged residents to have their voice be heard through photography.

PhotoVoice is a process by which project participants are provided cameras to document their lived experiences revolving around a project topic or theme. The We Are Standing PhotoVoice Project sought the participant’s perspective about their individual recovery journey, helping reshape the negative stigma of those suffering and recovering from addiction in Worcester.

"This program is supported in part by a grant from the Worcester Arts Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency."
