Cenni Biografici
Luca De Gaetano nasce a Milano nel 1976; parallelamente agli studi coltiva una forte passione per l’arte e per la pittura. Dopo la laurea in architettura al Politecnico di Milano si occupa di progetti per la realizzazione di complessi residenziali, di alberghi e della riconversione di aree industriali tra Milano, Londra e Parigi.

Nel 2009, grazie ad una borsa di studio intraprende definitivamente la sua carriera artistica frequentando la School of the Museum of Fine Arts di Boston, con indirizzo disegno e pittura. Nel 2011 segue un Master in Fine Arts alla Boston University, studiando con John Walker.
Vince nel 2013 il premio di arte “Kahn Award”.
Il suo linguaggio artistico è legato prevalentemente al disegno e alla pittura, con particolare interesse per la figura umana, il ritratto e il paesaggio.

Dal 2013 insegna regolarmente disegno e pittura alla Boston University di Boston e al Montserrat College of Art and Design a Beverly, Massachusetts; tra il 2013 il 2014 insegna presso la sede di Venezia della Boston University.
Inoltre sempre nel 2013 inizia a collaborare con il marchio di moda MSGM, creando stampe e tessuti per le collezioni.

Dal 2017 vive stabilmente a Brooklyn, dove dipinge ed insegna pratiche artistiche tramite la fondazione “Studio In A School” di New York.
Le sue opere sono state esposte in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, in mostre personali e collettive di cui si ricordano Venezia, Parigi e Boston.
Attualmente vive tra Brooklyn e Milano.

Luca De Gaetano was born in Milan in 1976; parallel to his studies he always pursues his strong passion toward art and painting. After graduating in architecture from the Politecnico of Milan he deals with a variety of architectural projects working in residential, hospitality and redevelopment of industrial areas between Milan, London and Paris.
In 2009, thanks to a scholarship he embarked on his artistic career, attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, focusing on drawing and painting.
In 2011 he joined an MFA in Painting at Boston University, studying with John Walker, graduating in 2013 with the prestigious Kahn Award.

His artistic language is predominantly based on drawing and painting, focusing on the figure, portraiture and landscape.
Since 2013 He teaches regularly drawing and painting at Boston University and Montserrat College of Art and Design in Beverly, MA; In 2013 and 2014 he was appointed to teach for Boston University in Venice, Italy. Furthermore in 2013 he started his collaboration with fashion brand MSGM, designing prints for fabric and for the collections.
In 2017 he moved to Brooklyn,NY, where he paints in his studio alongside being a teaching artist for Studio In A School, in NY.
His work has been shown in Europe and the US, with one person and group shows in Venice, Paris and Boston.
Currently he lives and works between Milan and Brooklyn.
