SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY

curated by:

One cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present. -Golda Meir

R Gallery proudly presents "Seems Like Yesterday", showcasing the works of Jotyl Bermudez, Kiko Marquez, Didier Alarcon, and JM Saycon. Featured works reflect on or discuss the idea of 'nostalgia', a term that was widely explored by the Romanticism movement which is often immersed in melancholic emotions that range from a sense of reflectivity to a sense of mourning. As the exhibit navigates the particular (yet not necessarily defined) place and time, we are challenged to reminisce every choice that we make.
Our previous choices determine what road we travel. The past cannot be changed, only learned from. What we choose to do with those lessons will determine how we live our present and by our choices within our present we can go anywhere we want to with our future. The choice is ours to make.
The virtual art exhibition runs from 27 November-12 December 2020.On-site viewings are by appointment only. Learn about our safety guidelines and plan your visit to R Gallery by messaging us at rgallery.ph@gmail.com
