From November 27th, 2020 to January 31st, 2021, Alioune Diagne, Senegalese artist and creator of the figuro-abstro movement, presents his exhibition WONEMA - LET ME SEE at the Hotel Pullman Dakar Teranga as part of Partcours, with the support of We Art Partners.

Alioune Diagne was born in 1985 in Fatick, Senegal and studied at the Beaux-Arts in Dakar.

He paints the Africa he is in love with and gives us his subjective interpretation of it. In 2013 he finds his true means of expression: the figuro-abstro.

Figuro-abstro is a movement that honors the signs. Unique and bearers of an emotion of their own, these abstract elements come to build a figurative image. They are a universal language that everyone reads according to his own perceptions.

Alioune Diagne addresses themes such as education and childhood, the place of women or the importance of culture and transmission.

"WONEMA" means "let me me" in Wolof. In this exhibition, Alioune Diagne comes to sublimate these social and contemporary themes. Through his works, he reveals what his double culture brings him as plurality and openness to the world. He makes us reflect on major issues that have always preoccupied humanity, on our time and on possible progress.

He does not forget where he comes from and wishes to become a link between the two cultures that shape him.
