Lockdown Residency - 3D virtual exhibition by Lisa Pettibone

Lockdown Residency

Thu, 10/22/2020 to Mon, 11/30/2020

curated by:

In late March 2020, as the seriousness of a global pandemic unfolded, artists around the world found themselves adapting to new spaces, new routines, and sometimes restricted or alternative materials, as well as the emotional and financial stresses faced by most of society. UK-based Finnish artist Meri Lahti proposed a geographically distant but collective residency providing a loose structure for artists to reflect on their experiences of lockdown. This exhibition charts the creative responses of 18 international artists through varied and poignant artworks that include painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, embroidery, animation, visual poetry and video. Their fertile imaginations roamed while the world stood still, revealing surprising approaches to creativity and the human predicament shared by many.
