singularity: intersections of solitude - 3D virtual exhibtion by Adia Weaver

singularity: intersections of solitude

This photo essay observes how one group of black female students on Princeton’s campus in particular navigates the intersectional multiplicities of their own solitude, examining the effectiveness of the Internet in the digital era and the nature of our own increasingly augmented reality. Each photo is juxtaposed with imagery from contemporary online dating technologies (including Tinder & The League) blurring the lines between simulated and lived realities. Testimonials from interviewees accompany each image in addition to statistical and textual analysis. In capturing the experiences of the individuals here rendered, this series aims to highlight the intersections of identity, dating, and reality itself in the modern era.
