Heartwork. By Jeffrey Brown
Heartwork is an exhibition by Jeffrey Brown. During his time working in Tutti Visual Arts Studio, Brown has created a large body of artworks. His works highlight connections. The connections he feels with people, animals and the natural world around him. When asked, Brown responded “these are all artworks of people I love and things that make me happy”.
This exhibition reflects on what it means to be a portraiture artist. Focusing on blurring the lines between seeing and understanding. Observing and being observed. Watching the world and being a part of it. The artworks displayed show Brown’s thoughtful process. The noticing of small details, colours, patterns, and the personalities of the subjects he paints. Brown captures the honest spirit of what he chooses to paint, showing the beauty and intimacy of ordinary life.
