River of Hope 2025: Newham
Curated by:
Thames Festival Trust
Young people from five Newham secondary schools worked with poet Dauda Ladejobi and artist Shona Watt to express their feelings about climate change through visual art and spoken word.
They took part in an immersive visit to Cody Dock where they learnt about the history of the area and ecology of the river Lea and then translated their findings into poems and artwork, using a variety of materials such as collage, plastics and sequins.
