In deference to the myriad
Both science and Western religions point to the origins of humanity as coming from either tragedy via the bible or some causeless primal matter.
I actually instinctively doubt both.
I think that humanity may well have been founded in societies based on extreme creative practice, are likely to have centered around the Arts and true philosophical study, much like the early societies of ancient Greece.
So the true human condition may well be of greater capacity for creativity, rational scholarly pursuits and moral integrity than the current psychological reasoning allows.
