Kinship with Birds in Plight & Flight

Sun, 10/15/2023 to Thu, 02/29/2024

curated by:

At a time when birds around the world are facing challenges, WEAD invites artists to come forth with work that celebrates conservation successes or signals the need for urgent interventions. The juror is Jane Kim, muralist and scientific illustrator, founder of Ink Dwell. Her murals including the "Wall of Birds" at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the "Migrating Mural" campaign, a series of public installations that highlight wildlife along migration corridors

A panel of conservation-focused scientists and experts will join juror Jane Kim to discuss the relationship between art and science as it relates to bird conservation. Watch for a date in January 2024, for this panel, as part of WEAD's "Art + ..." Lecture Series.

A series of Artist's Panels will allow guests to meet the juror and artists to talk about the artworks (times to be announced):
Thursday November 2, 2023
Wednesday November 15, 2023
Tuesday December 5, 2023
