January 28 – May 13, 2021

What Remains is newly-released series of artworks by Krista Svalbonas. In this new seires, the artist contineus her examination of the impact of architecture on human psychology, especially as it relates to ideas of home and dislocation.

Eight photographs are presented, depicting architectural structures in Lithuania and Latvia, built during the time of the Soviet occupation of the Baltic region.

Black and white photographs of these structuers, have been juxtaposed with the laser-cut patterns of traditional Baltic textile design. The textile designs represent the power of folk art and craft, as well as the strength and determination of the women who created the weavings.
