Kenosha, Wisconsin: The Aftermath

-

On August 23, 2020, a City of Kenosha, Wisconsin police officer shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back after attempting to arrest him. There were peaceful protests in response to the incident, but violence and destruction soon erupted. Five days later, I went to Kenosha to photograph the burnt-out buildings. I discovered many residents painting the plywood covering store windows in an effort to gain some control over their city. I have now returned to Kenosha four more times, and these are some of the images that I made.
